  • Fitting of the Ir 4f photoemission spectrum for the element (research grade), data were provided by Vincent Crist (XPS library website, https://xpslibrary.com/). The spectrum was fitted employing three Voigt doublets. The branching ratio was forced to be equal to the theoretically expected value (0.7866), which was taken from the Scofield tables. The fit needs to be optimized, since it fails to reproduce the data in the circled region (~50 eV).
